Hardness refers to the degree of difficulty that the abrasive particles on the surface of the grinding wheel fall off under the action of external forces. The organization of the grinding wheel is a measure of the tightness of its internal structure.

Hardness refers to the degree of difficulty that the abrasive particles on the surface of the grinding wheel fall off under the action of external forces. If the abrasive particles are easy to fall off, it means that the hardness of the grinding wheel is lower, and vice versa, it means that the hardness of the grinding wheel is higher. Thus, the hardness of the grinding wheel and the hardness of the abrasive are two different concepts and cannot be confused. The same kind of abrasive grains can be made into grinding wheels with different hardness, which mainly depends on the performance and manufacturing process of the bonding agent.

According to GB/T2484-94 standard, the hardness of the grinding wheel from soft to hard sequence: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R ,S, T, Y

The organization of the grinding wheel is a measure of the tightness of its internal structure. Abrasives, binders, and voids are used to measure the volume ratio inside the wheel. The greater the proportion of abrasives contained in the grinding wheel, the tighter the organization; conversely, the larger the gap, the looser the grinding wheel organization.

The internal organization of the grinding wheel is tight, and it is easy to maintain the geometry of the grinding wheel under stress release conditions, which can increase the life of the grinding wheel and increase the grinding precision. If the internal organization of the grinding wheel is loose, it is easy to cause the deformation of the grinding wheel to be caused by wet cutting or dry cutting. It is easy to cause clogging of chips, which reduces the life of the grinding wheel.

China famous abrasives factories, Yihong Abrasives and Sanders Abrasives are all accepted by various specifications of grinding wheel.
